Sabyasachi studied design at the Fashion Institute in Calcutta city. That same year he received an award for being the only Indian designer invited to participate in Fashion Week in Milan. He was appointed by Asia Inc. magazine, which specializes in fashion, as one of India’s most influential designers in Asia.

In 2005, Sabyasachi designing costumes for Sanjay Leela Banshali movie: Black, Baabul and Laaga Mein Daag.
